Directions:
This is a
two-step process. You need to remove all excess build-up of
contaminants in your spa’s system by using the Spa Cleanser
before using AquaSafe 90. (Only
applicable on spas that are not brand new).
We suggest you do not use
the spa during the Cleanser proces |
|
Step One:
Penetrating Spa Cleanser (Does not apply to new Spas)
1.
Remove your cartridge filter. During the cleansing
process keep your filter out of the spa. We also
recommend you clean or replace your filter at this time.
2.
Using the old water, pour in one bottle of the Aquasafe
Spa Cleanser. If the spa is 3-4 years old or more, use
two bottles.
3.
Let the spa circulate with the water temperature at
between 35-37ºC for a minimum of 8 hours per day for
five days. The more filtration time the better (24-7 is
excellent if your spa is capable)
4.
After five days, drain the water, and flush the spa with
fresh water. Put a hose in the filter area and fill the
tub up to the footwell area, then drain and clean the
well. This will aid in completely flushing contaminants
from your spa. If you have a portable kit form unit
unscrew filter housing and flush inside with a hose
pipe.
5.
Clean both sides of the cover, either with soap and
water, or some of the AquaSafe 90. If the cover has any
breaks or tears, we recommend it be replaced or
repaired.

Step Two:
AquaSafe 90
1. Add one bottle of AquaSafe 90 to spas of
1125-2250 litres. If your spa is less than 1125 litres, add
750 ml of the bottle.
2 . After water has
reached desired temperature 35-37ºc, check and adjust
the pH to ensure it is in the range of 8.0 to 8.4. AquaSafe
90 works better at this range. You may need to check your pH
levels on a weekly basis, although the AquaSafe 90 should
maintain pH at this level automatically.
3 . Clean your filter
every week, or more frequently, based on bather usage. Your
filter is the heart of your spa and contaminants have to go
somewhere ,and your filter(s) will lose their efficiency by
soap residue, bathing suits, flaky skin etc Use a jet
attachment on the hose pipe to clean thoroughly inside the
pleats of you filter. Also another good way to clean your
filter(s) is in the bathtub, with half a teaspoon of
chlorine or a small cup of household bleach, and let soak
for an hour or two. Rinse thoroughly, and let air
dry.
It's always
best to have a spare filter(s) so you can just replace one
filter while cleaning the other.
4.
Drain and re-fill your
spa and add another bottle of AquaSafe 90 every three
months.
We do not recommend using any fragrances in the spa water
because they may not be compatible. Some of our customers
use fragranced candles around there spa. this way you get
your chosen aromatherapy without contaminating the spa
water.
5: ENJOY the
lowest maintenance, a completely natural, skin conditioning
product, made exclusively for the hot tub industry!
Useful Tips
AquaSafe
90 is a positively charged ion. Your tubs’ surface has a
negative charge. Once in a 90-day period, they may bond, and
you will notice a slight film develop on the surface of your
tub. All that you need to do is wipe the inside of your tub
with a clean cloth or sponge to break this bond. The great
result of this bonding is that it also creates a natural
lubricant within your spa, coating your heating element,
pump, seals, and your plumbing, allowing your tub’s
mechanics to work longer and better.
To
help avoid any issues arising, follow these tips as a
preventative measure.
1.
Set your spa on 'continuous filtration'. Many modern spas
are factory set to run just a few hours at a time, which is
inadequate. Consult the owners’ manual to make the
adjustment to 8 hours minimum. Remember 24/7 is better
2. Clean your filters weekly or more
depending on usage.
3.
Monitor your pH weekly. Keep it in the range 8.0 to 8.4.
4. Add some kind of clarifier when needed.
Issue:
Cloudy water
Possible causes:
1. Large number of
bathers or lotions, oils, deodorants, sunscreens or other
products used on the skin or soap residues in bathing suits.
2. Contamination in the water supply or
chemical residue from the pipes.
3. Customer has put a fragrance in the
water.
4. Customer has put too much AquaSafe 90
into the spa. (See Step 2, No1 on the directions page.)
Solution:
1.
Make
sure filters are clean and the filtration system runs at
least 8 hours a day.
2.
Add some clarifier (such as SeaKlear
Natural Clarifier) If you do not have any SeaKlear natural
clarifier at hand you can add 2 small cups of normal
house hold chlorine bleach. Although this is going against
having a chem-free spa, it will help to clear up cloudy
water. It burn's off and evaporates very quickly leaving
just the AquaSafe 90. Be patient your spa water will
clear up and does not have to be drained, AquaSafe 90
just needs time to do its job.
3. If the customer did not use the Aquasafe
Spa Cleanser product, and the clarifier does not solve the
problem, the customer must put a bottle or two of Aquasafe
Spa Cleanser in the already existing water and run it for
five days. Then drain the water and start fresh with
AquaSafe 90. (See Step 1.) On the directions page.
4.
If a fragrance was put in the water, the
tub must be drained. Refrain from putting any fragrances in
the water with AquaSafe 90. If you have an Aromatherapy Pod
you can either use beads or herbal oil dispensed on a linen
cloth.
5. For small spas of 1350 litres or under
750ml of AquaSafe is adequate.
